I have done all the nesting and all the Kondo-ing I can possibly stand. I am 38 weeks pregnant and really only need the baby. Since we do not know the gender it makes it pretty easy to be prepared. We have unisex outfits, diapering and a place for baby to sleep.

Since the baby will be in our room for the first few months we decided that we would prefer a bassinet that was not only affordable but functional. We went with the MiClassic that is under $80 and folds up for easy travel or carting it from bedroom to living room. This bassinet rocks and also remains stationary with very little effort. The mattress is waterproof and wipes down easily. You can purchase soft fitted sheets for this bassinet here.

The sheets are 100% jersey cotton. We opted to get standard crib sheets and tuck them under the mattress for when the baby transitions to a standard crib. We also purchased a waterproof mattress protector that is also standard crib size.

See our short YouTube Video for the MiClassic portable crib set up and a demo.

Since I have a large leather tote, I have been looking into buying an organizing insert to place at the bottom. The red one below is sturdy and will give my tote shape and keep it standing. It stands well on its own, but it would be nice to have the small pockets for things. The red one below is felt and stays open. The black one pictured is waterproof, has a zipper closure and not as sturdy. Both are under $20, have excellent reviews and come in a variety of colors and sizes.

I love the idea of having a safe place for the baby to sleep in bed with us. The Dockatot listed below is something we have been looking at as well as similar items.

We are so excited for our little one that should be arriving any day! Pray for us as we enter this exciting stage of growing our family!
